(THE SONG)

FDC

TEXT

[ 1997/??/?? ]

(sung to the tune of _Africa,_ by Toto -- it's a twister, it's a twister!)

I hear the BrAInWaVEs echoing tonight;
She sees only whispers in some role-play conversation
I'd like to say we've both the right
To kingly OOC chat or an IC coronation
Some stop to argue along the way
Hoping to gain some new, disputed turf from newer enemies
It seems to me, it doesn't pay
When all your friends are waiting here for you...

It's gonna take a lot to drive us away from here,
But it's something that a hundred wars or more could do, I fear
Let's wrest the reins of the FDC
From the ones who fight, before we find that we've been had...

The comments pile up in the night
As players sit there, basking in their solitary company
Each thinking they alone are right
As sure as one in the dark is absolutely certain no one else can see
They seek to cure their wounded pride --
Frightening, this thing that we've become...

It would take a lot to drag me away from you,
It's something that a hundred poisoned posts could never do
But I'll bless the reins of the FDC
Now I'll take some time to do the things I never had...
